The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted approval to the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology (OYSCOHEST), Eleyele, Ibadan to commence Higher National Diploma (HND) in five (5) of its programmes with effect from 2023/2024 Session.
The five academic programmes granted approval by the NBTE are Dental Nursing, Dental Therapy, Health Information Management, Nutrition and Dietetics and Environmental Health Technology.
The approval was communicated to the Provost, Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo via a letter signed by the Director of Monotechnics of the board, Dr Samaila Tanko on behalf of the Executive Secretary.
The approval followed the resources inspection visit carried out by the Board in November, 2023.
Reacting to the positive development, the Provost of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan, Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo expressed her utmost delight over this development, which will boost the status of the College, commending the Visitor to the College , the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde for the financial and logistic supports received for the programmes.
She equally commended the College Governing Council, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, the Management and Staff of the College for their various contributions towards the success achieved.
She thanked the NBTE for the confidence reposed in the academic standard of the College, assuring that the excellence would be sustained.
In his reaction, the President of the Students’ Union Government of the College, Comrade Tolase Fadare commended the sterling leadership style of the College Provost, Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo which he said contributed immensely to the various enviable positive developments the College is currently witnessing.
