LG Polls: Ex-Lawmaker, Olayanju Picks Chairmanship Form After His Emergence As Consensus Candidate In Olorunsogo
A ninth Oyo Assembly lawmaker, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju on Friday picked up the local government election PDP chairmanship primary election form at the party secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan.
Olayanju, who recently finished as a state lawmaker last June was unanimously endorsed by party stakeholders at Olorunsogo local government as the preferred aspirant to be the chairmanship candidate to represent the party at the forthcoming Oyo state local government election.
The former lawmaker who spoke with our correspondent after obtaining his nomination and interest forms in Ibadan said, after the whole process of sourcing for a credible candidate, the party leaders see him as a fit and competent person to represent the party at the poll, thereafter thanks leaders, party members, loyalists for the call to service again.
” I don’t just emerge as a consensus candidate, it was a process and they all arrived at me.
” It is a privilege for me to be called to service again, but first we need to work hard to win the election after that, we will embark on doing what the electorate want.
” My profound gratitude goes to the state governor, Seyi Makinde, he has done a lot on my political career and he is still doing it, I will continue to appreciate his endless support, so also, my leaders in Olorunsogo local government, Chief JG Adetoro, Ezikiel Babalola Biodun Oni, Ganiyu Opeloyeru, Saminu oladele, Ayantunde Ayandeyi, and others, they have been so wonderful since the journey started”.
