A former Director General of Oyo State Liaison Offices in Lagos and Abuja, Hon. Wale Ajani, has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal challenges within the party at both national and state levels.
Ajani, who hails from Ward 6, Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, announced his resignation in a letter dated Saturday, January 10, 2026, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP in Ona Ara Local Government.
In the letter, Ajani said his decision followed prevailing uncertainties within the party, including the emergence of factions, the proliferation of caretaker committees, and what he described as a persistent lack of internal democracy.
“This decision has not come lightly,” he stated, adding that the current situation within the PDP made it necessary for him to step aside in his personal and political interest.
The former PDP chieftain expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth of the Oyo State government under the party, while acknowledging the support he received over the years.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Ajani disclosed his intention to prepare for a higher level of political engagement, noting that details of his future political plans and possible new party affiliation would be made public in due course.
He concluded by wishing the PDP continued progress.
