Saki-born Ibadan general merchant, Motor Dear, and Transporter, Alh. Abdulkareem Adetokunbo Hamzat has been appointed and installed as the Aare Musulumi of Odo Ona & Environs by the Muslim Community of the communities.
Aside from Hamza Kareem, 9 other Muslim personalities within Odo Ona & Environs were also installed with Islamic chieftaincy titles.
The ceremony, which was held on Sunday, 26th of November, 2023 at NCRI, More Plantation, Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, was graced by eminent personalities.
Odo Ona & Environs Muslim community has, Alhaji Yunus Qozeem as general chief Imam, with 3 central Mosques and 6 Ratibis.
Others who were installed with Islamic titles include, Alh. Qamadeen Adebajo,
( Balogun Adeen Odo Ona and Environs ). Alh. Ibrahim Olatunji Alabi,
( Saraki Adeen Odo Ona & Environs ), All.Abdulfatai Oladokun ( Seriki Adeen, Odo Ona and Environs ). Alh. Muh. Qauzim Arogundade, ( Mayegun Adeen Odo Ona & Environs ). Alh. Abdulfatai Thumas ( Baba Adeen Odo Ona & Environs ). Alhaja Princess Balqees Popoola ( Iyalode Adeen Odo Ona and Environs ). Alhaja Shifau Adekunle Alagunfon ( Agbesinga Adeen Odo Ona & Environs ). Alhaja Hamdalat Olasoji Omisore ( Asiwaju Adeen Odo Ona & Environs ).
In his acceptance speech, the new Aare Musulumi, Hamza Kareem thanks the entire Odo Ona & Environs Muslim community for the honor bestowed on him, pledged to remain committed to advancing the cause of Islam and further development of Odo Ona & Environs with all he is endowed with by God and would never let the people down.
He said he would work in harmony with all other Islamic title holders to improve the upliftment of Islam in Odo Ona & Environs.
The new Aare Musulumi, however, sought the cooperation of all Islamic organizations as well as the Muslim Ummah of the South-West local government in fostering unity among the faithful.
He thereafter thanked friends, family, associates, and Ummah who traveled far and near to support him for the installation.
