Group Urges Makinde To Honor Outcry Of Oluyole LG PDP Leaders, Says Olaide Settle Deserves Second Term
Following the disagreement filling the political space of Oluyole Local government, an area of Oyo State, over an acceptability of the rightful candidate for the next chairmanship election.
A Youth Alliance Forum in Oluyole has called on the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to close ears against ill-accusation, against the incumbent chairman, Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Olaide Settle by some saboteurs and political foreigners in the area.
The group who signed on behalf of Comrade Ademola Mojeed and Comrade Samuel Ojolowo, who are the chairman and secretary maintained that the political tussle over chairmanship candidate in the council area is due for winning by former State Treasurer of social democratic party, SDP who is also the incumbent chairman of Oluyole, Hon. Olaide Settle whom is a boast political child of Seyi Makinde.
The group noted that the political witch-hunt in the area, that is orchestrated by the Publicity Secretary of the ruling political party, PDP, Mr. Akeem Olatunji was brought up politically by the Otun Olubadan and former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, that Akeem Olatunji remains his boy at all time, which the state PDP PRO himself constantly reveres the former governor everywhere he goes unstoppably.
The group believes Mr. Akeem Olatunji has lost focus by stooping so low to the seat of a local government chairman, having lost a bid to a House of Representative’s aspiration at the expense of a high-performance-rated local government chairman in Oluyole.
” We are amazed by the credible socio-political delivery of Hon. Settle Olaide, and this must never be stopped by any means but rather be maintained”, the group said.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Seyi Makinde has been called to listen to the leaders in the area for parading a real candidate who is the true son of the soil approved as a consensus candidate who happens to be Hon. Olaide Settle so as never to lose out the bid to opposition party when an unpopular grassroots candidate like Akeem Olatunji flag bears the party’s emblem in the forthcoming local government elections in the year 2024.
Recall, Olawale Mogbojubola lost his ticket as much, tussle broke out from same Akeem Olatunji in the 2023 House of Representatives Election to Hon. Tolu Sadipe of the All Progressives Congress, APC, which undeniably made a crack in the hole for the PDP and it is high time, Seyi Makinde stopped Akeem Olatunji as never to sell-out ruling party’s chances unnecessarily.
