First Lady Applauds Ibadan Northeast Council Boss Akintayo for Grassroots Development
The First Lady of Oyo State, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde has commended the Chairman of Ibadan Northeast Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, for his exceptional commitment to grassroots development and service delivery.

Mrs. Makinde gave the commendation on Tuesday during a mega empowerment programme and a series of project commissioning held at the Ibadan Northeast Local Government Secretariat, Iwo Road, Ibadan.
The event featured the commissioning of a newly established Garri Processing Factory, the renovated Multipurpose Hall, and the refurbished Marriage Registry. The initiatives are part of the council’s ongoing efforts to boost local infrastructure and economic empowerment.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady described Hon. Akintayo’s leadership as “sterling and impactful,” noting that she had long been convinced of his capacity to effectively administer local government affairs. She urged other council chairmen across the state to emulate his example of visionary and inclusive governance.
“The establishment of the Garri processing factory is a step in the right direction. It will not only create employment but also enhance food production and distribution within the local government area,” she said.

Mrs. Makinde also lauded the empowerment programme organized for residents, describing it as a catalyst for increased community participation and improved quality of life.
She, however, cautioned beneficiaries against selling the items distributed to them, urging them instead to make good use of the tools and resources to support their livelihoods.

The event was attended by stakeholders, traditional leaders, community members, and beneficiaries, many of whom praised the council chairman for his dedication to improving lives at the grassroots level.
The empowerment and commissioning held on the second day of the a week-long activities program to mark 365 day of second term administration of Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo.
The programme kicked off Yesterday, with media engagement, including a live appearance on Fresh FM, a thanksgiving service at the chapel, fuel palliative support for Okada riders, and the distribution of exercise books to students. On the third day, the activities shifted to health and infrastructure with the commissioning of the Taiwo Alaka Primary Health Care Centre and the ultramodern JONKU Market. Day four is dedicated to security improvements with the official commissioning of a newly constructed Operation Burst Office.
The week-long celebration will be concluded with a faith-based Thanksgiving service to be held at the Ibadan Northeast Local Government Central Mosque
