Excitement As Former Reps Leader, Akande Adeola Flags Off Senatorial Campaign Under SDP In Iseyin

The ancient city of Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government, Area of Oyo State was on Wednesday, November 16 filled as Rt Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola flagged off a campaign to represent Oyo North Senatorial District under the banner of the Social Democratic Party(SDP).

The elaborate event which took place at Oja-Oba of the ancient town had in attendance of creme de la creme in SDP within the pacesetter state and National level respectively.

The SDP Candidate and ex-majority leader of the House of Representatives promised to ensure effective representation if given the mandate to represent the senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly come 2023.

Mulikat who had once represented Oriire/Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South Federal Constituency of Oyo State under PDP between 2007-2011 and 2011-2015 added that she would give good representation that would eventually culminate in sponsorship of bills/motions and adherence to oversight functions which are in line with constitutional requirements.

The ogbomoso-born politician stressed that she would make a complete difference the feats would be unprecedented, out of all senators who had represented the senatorial district.

She however maintained that she would unequivocally work and deliver in line with equity, fairness, justice, and God’s piety which she had regarded as antidotes and unavoidable criteria to guide her service delivery.

Mulikat showered encomiums to all loyalists, staunch supporters, members, leaders, and admirers who thronged the venue to witness her official flag-off.

Also, she appreciated those who were of help in all kinds and forms towards the fruition of the program.

In his submission, the Presidential Candidate of the party, Prince Adewole Adebayo, said the party would usher in 24-hours electricity across Nigeria, provide free and quality education, and revive Nigeria’s economy and equally insecure.

Adding that, he would strengthen Nigeria’s unity for sustainable development, and also restore confidence in government through transparent governance and equity among others.

The State Chairman of the party, Hon. Michael Okunlade thanked members, and most especially the chairmen across the 13 local governments who ensured coordination of SDP members to the venue of official flag-off, praying and assuring that nobody will labor in vain.

He however asked people not to vote for Governor Seyi Makinde again, reiterating that his government has made the local government which is the closest to the people at the grassroots level functionless and powerless.

The SDP Chieftains and dignitaries who were in attendance were Rt Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola, Prince Adebayo Adewole, Michael Folorunso Lana(Oyo Gubernatorial Candidate), Hon. Michael Okunlade, National Women Leader, Mrs. Sahadat Abdullahi, and southwest Chairman of the party, Chief Salas.

Also in attendance and got party’s flags were candidates for the House of Representatives whose names include Hon. Jacob Adejumo, Hon. Afeez Jimoh OnaAra, Arc Bashiru Lawal, and Barr. Abdulwaheed Bayo Raji and others.

The candidates for Oyo State House of Assembly who also got party flags are Oke Simon, Olugbenga George, Kehinde Kareem, Saheed Adebayo, Aderoju Shittu, Lateef Salaudeen, Mrs. Gidado, and Adebayo Tomiwa among others.

The state executive members and party chairmen across the 13 local governments, Fulani community, Hausa community, Egede community, and others were equally in attendance.
