Ex-Oyo NURTW Boss, Alhaji Tawa Dies

A former Oyo State NURTW boss,
Alhaji Wasiu Abubakre “TAWAkalitu” has been confirmed dead yesterday evening by one of his close relatives, Westerndailynews leant.

Alhaji Wasiu Abubakre popularly called ” Tawa ” died around few minutes to 6pm on Monday evening at Patnas Hospital, in Ibadan.

Alh. Kabir, a family member confirmed Alhaji Tawa death as a shook and unexpected. He claimed he was sick but no one ever had the thought it will lead to his death.

” Our family had lost a gem, a bread winner had gone now, it is our prayer to God to give us fortitude to bear the loss” Alh Kabir” lamented.

He continued, ” Although he was on sick bed for few months, we took him to oversee hospital and was brought home weeks ago, even because of his ill health, he was stopped from fasting during month of Ramadan, but we human can only try our best to cure sickness, Almighty Allah dictate for the soul.

Alhaji Wasiu Abubakre (a.k.a Tawa), a loyalist of Ojewumi fame came to limelight in 2003 as he is one of the few who challenged Alhaji Lateef Akinsola Tokyo’s high handedness. He was unanimously elected but his tenure was truncated 30 months after. Tokyo, in his characteristic manner, hijacked power again, this time, through the help of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Lamidi Adedibu.

Late Alhaji Wasiu Abubakre (a.k.a Tawa) will be buried according to Islamic-rites on Tuesday morning in Iwo Town Osun State.
