The Southwest Presidential Campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party  Atiku/Okowa has been concluded in Ibadan, Oyo State capital with a  commitment to peace and security of Nigeria.

This is just as the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar promised to make the Southwest the industrial hub of the nation if elected.

He stated this while addressing the party loyalists at the ancient Mapo, Ibadan, and the venue of the rally.

However, the incumbent governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who is a member of the G-5 governor, was absent at the event

Addressing the crowd, the Presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said his government if given the opportunity would control the security situation in Nigeria as no development could take place in an atmosphere devoid of peace.

Alhaji Abubakar said his government was committed to the unity of Nigeria through the inclusion of every zona of the country in governance.

Said he “Southwest is going to be a business centre, that’s why in our economic programs, we are committed to making sure that industrialization of the Southwest is achieved and has the support of the Federal Government.

“This is our commitment. There are five major commitments to the people of this country. We must make sure there is unity; we must make sure there is inclusion. Every part of this country will be represented in our government, not like what the APC government is doing.

“We will also make sure we take control of our security situation so that there is peace, law and order in every part of this country.

He expressed gratitude to the state governor, Governor Seyi Makinde for creating an enabling environment and providing the needed support for the peaceful rally.

Also speaking, the PDP vice presidential candidate and the Governor of Delta state, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa who urged the electorate in Oyo state to vote for all PDP candidates from top to bottom, said the PDP was poised to rebuild Nigeria.
