BREAKING : Buruji Kashamu Replaces Adeleke Shittu As Ogun PDP Governorship Candidate
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the replacement of Adeleke Shittu as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Buruji Kashamu, The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, ahead of next year’s elections in the state.
Adeleke Shittu emerged the governorship candidate of PDP from the primary conducted by Adebayo Dayo-faction in the State, while Mr Odanye, that headed the PDP Caretaker Committee of the second faction produced Oladipupo Adebutu.
It will be recalled that, a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Tuesday October 2nd ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Uche Secondus-led National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to immediately dissolve the Sunday September 31st gubernatorial primaries that elected Oladipupo Adebutu as the party’s governorship candidate for 2019 general election.
The court ordered that due process list of candidates and delegates submitted to them by the Engr. Adebayo Dayo-led Ogun State Executive Committee of the party for the purpose of the 2019 general election be used.
With court order affirming the the Buruji Kasamu faction, westerndailynews confirmed that Shittu whose name was pasted alongside other governorship candidates of 38 political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), “voluntarily withdrew” from the race for senator Buruji Kashamu.
