A group within Oyo state People’s Democratic Party, Oyo Central Movement For Atiku on Sunday commenced full-scale outreach and campaign activities for the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Oyo Central Movement For Atiku was formally inaugurated yesterday in Ibadan, by Dr. Ayokunle Iyanda, a formal federal house of a representative candidate for PDP on Egbeda, Ona Ara.

It will be recalled that, the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde on behalf of South-west PDP presented to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar that, the zone will not involve in his campaign activities unless the PDP national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, resigns in the collective interest of the party.

Gov. Makinde’s stance on the national issue of PDP has made PDP presidential election activities to  “stand still’ in Oyo state.

But the group, Oyo Central Movement For Atiku defy the odds and began a presidential campaign for Atiku and Okowa.

According to the initiator of the group, Dr. Iyanda (ASEJERE), stated that “the adoption of HE Atiku Abubakar as the flagbearer of our great party in a contest keenly contested by the best and brightest, and by the Grace of God, the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was based primarily on his experience, capacity, and love for our dear country.”

The Oyo Central Movement For Atiku will focus on all Eleven (11) local government areas within the Oyo Central Senatorial District in Oyo State and is also committed to promoting all candidates of the PDP.
