Alaafin Throne: 85 Years Old Bishop And 38-Year-Old Mariner | Olumuyiwa Famurewa

The vacant, sacred throne of Alaafin is the talk of the moment across the southwest of Nigeria.

The biggest unexecuted project we have at hand is the installation of the occupant of the sacred throne of Oranyan/Oranmiyan. Do not get confused. Both Oranyan and Oranmiyan refer to the same person ( the bravest son of Oduduwa. Oyo people Stick to Oranyan while Ife people adopted Oranmiyan.

If I should choose one of the names, as a historian, I will unrepentantly go with oyo pronunciation due to the unarguably genuine identity of Alaafin to the progenitor (oduduwa)

I have received countless calls from people all over the world asking me what the situation is, about the installation of new alaafin. Due to my insufficient information and research, I have not been able to respond to anyone. It is excellently better to remain silent than to feed the general public with the wrong information.

The stool of Alaafin became vacant as a result of the passage of the last occupant; Alaafin lamidi Adeyemi.

The pendulum has already swung to the agunloye ruling House.

Several candidates from the Agunloye ruling house showed interest, including an 86-year-old archbishop Lawrence Ayoade Ladigbolu, and a very vibrant young prince Kolade Hafeez Siyanbola Oladigbolu

I mentioned only two of them due to their frequent activities surrounding the stool. Though other candidates came out at an earlier stage. But as the matters deepen, no one hears anything about them. They probably realized the race was getting tougher beyond what they could withstand.

As far as the Agunloye ruling house is concerned, Bishop Ladigbolu and Prince Siyanbola Oladigbolu are the major flag bearers known to the public.

Some factions of the ruling House are secretly, happily, and solidly behind the younger prince (siyanbola) due to his age advantage and, most importantly, being the youngest biological grandson of Alaafin siyanbola oladigbolu whom the ticket to the stool of Alaafin solely belongs to.

The supporters of the retired methodist archbishop (Ayo Ladigbolu) are also gallantly behind the 86-year-old prince. Insisting his age shouldn’t be used against him.

However, according to the information gathered from the ancient town of Oyo. The young Prince Siyanbola Oladigbolu and Prince Lawrence Ayo Ladigbolu are biological grandsons of the 40th Alaafin of Oyo. Alaafin abubakar Akanbi Adedokun Siyanbola Oladigbolu. The Alaafin between 1911-1944.

Of course, the CAN would prefer an archbishop the same way Muslims would prefer Prince Kolade Hafeez Siyanbola Oladigbolu. I hope religious sentiment is not involved.

The agitation of youths is not left behind. The youths have openly declared their support for their peer.

The latest information reaching me further revealed that in some royal quarters in Oyo, some Princes are not comfortable putting forward an 86-year-old bishop as Alaafin for certain reasons but will gladly see him as guardian to the new king.

Other family members also lamented that bishop Ladigbolu has always been around three different Alaafins and had access to dynastic lifestyles. He should allow a younger prince to be installed as the 44th alaafin of Oyo.

People have been talking to him in parables and body to put forward the young prince Siyanbola and stand as his guardian, but the old man is still defending his candidacy, which is understandable. He knew not on this planet would the kingmakers install an Alaafin with a living father according to Oyo tradition. and that’s why his sons are not allowed to contest. That could probably be the reason he wants to create an avenue for his sons to have brighter chances in the future.

No wonder a medical doctor with a living father among the contestants quickly called himself to order by halting his campaign to be the next Alaafin. He must have asked himself why Bishop Ladigbolu could not present his sons when the joy of every parent is to see their offspring being better than them.

According to a member of the family I am not permitted to mention his name. Prince Azeez Akano Siyanbola (Prince Siyanbola’s father) is the one and only son of his mother; Ayaba Omowe) to the late Alaafin siyanbola oladigbolu He was a little boy when Alaafin Ladigbolu joined his ancestors in 1944. He had no access to anything a prince should, after the demise of Oba Ladigbolu in 1944. He was neglected. The only thing that happened was when he was graduating from Quranic school, Alaafin Bello Gbadegesin (his half-brother) presented a ceremonial dress and a free horse ride to the venue and the horse was later that night returned to the palace. He had no access to Western education, and people don’t have confidence in any education-disadvantaged person. So the man managed his lonely lifestyle until he was called to glory on the 15th of January 2007.

When the stool became vacant in April last year, the Ladigbolu family never believed such a neglected prince had secretly trained and prepared one of his sons for greatness. Now, the horsetail is around the corner to be greater beyond his father’s pedigree.

The source further revealed that people started feeling uncomfortable from the day he attended the first family meeting. I could see people’s countenance when the prince stood up and respectfully introduced himself to the family. Only one very hold member of the family quickly hugged him and started crying. Aaa Omo Boda Laisi, Omooba, ori baba re you sun o ba ire on. The old man said.

It was that very day I believed that people used to plan for ten unborn generations not to smell greatness. especially when the issue of kingship is involved.

Ire ooo !!!
