(ALAAFIN) May The Spirit of Late Oba Adeyemi Forgive Us By Deola Ijayi

(ALAAFIN) May The Spirit of Late Oba Adeyemi Forgive Us By Deola Ijayi

Late Alaafin was not wrong in treating some people the way he did. He should have done more.

It has always been a strength-less yoruba adage, that when the desire is not available, the most available one becomes a desire.

The proverb coined by African politicians as an element of oppression to their subjects.

There’s absolutely nothing like no others. Only god has no peers.

Juxtaposing all this to the embarrassing delay in selecting the new Alaafin.

Ati gbo ti olugbon, oni o un ni o un gbon ju, a gbo ti aresa, o ni e ni esa ni o un.
Ije, ko wa si agbaagba l’aye mo, ti won yio fi oju sunukun wo oro sunukun. This means Olugbon insisted he is more intelligent. We asked Aresa, and he also insisted that no one is more important, like him.

Are we now saying there are no more leaders of thought with deep senses of Omoluwabi to digest the issues and blatantly confront both olugbon and aresa to let them know their boundaries? The question is still begging for an answer over a year. One thing about life is that, whether faster or slower, it continues.

The atmosphere is about to forget there’s something called the Alaafin throne. No one is talking anything about it. No one even wants to remember there used to be a throne called Alaafin.

The throne of Oranyan, the stool that naturally commands respect. What a very deep national embarrassment. However, you won’t blame the people.

Eni ti o fi ogun odun pile were, odun melo ni yio fi bu igije.

At the initial stages of the process, the princes jostling for the stool were 119. a week later, it was prompted down to 68 candidates, and finally, to 10 candidates.

My personal questions are:

1. If the government rejected a particular candidate, are there no other qualified ones?

2. Has anyone tried to confirm the reason behind his rejection?

3. What is so special about a candidate rejected that others don’t have

4. If the rejected candidate is a questionable character person, why should reputable people in authority trust such a person with the Alaafin throne?

We have several several publications of different contenders to the stool of Alaafin. There were lawyers, medical doctors, pharmacists, accountants, mariners, and so on.

I ask again, “What is essential about a particular rejected candidate that others don’t have?”

If the government is making any decision, people shouldn’t be in a hurry to condemn the authorities. They have access to every information that no average Joe can have access to.

Apart from the information available on Nigeria’s investigative journalism online platform, there must be more terrible details about the rejected candidate the kingmakers are not telling us or are not aware of.

If Oyo kingmakers (Oyomesi) were unable to present a highly representing vocal Prince with a track records of services, whether in the community, business world, or academics to mount the throne of Oranyan, I wonder what makes them kingmakers.

If they choose a new alaafin based on what they get, they might never get what they need whenever they need it.

Oyomesi should climb a ladder, raise their heads, and look into the future. If they take any shortsighted decision, they will pay for it dearly. They should remember that the romance of Satan is never for good intentions.

Also, remember, no matter the agreement they have with any prince, once he becomes an Alaafin, no kingmakers can summon the courage to even remind the Iku Baba-yeye of the previous promises.

The kingmakers should take it easy on candidates. no alaafin forgets the rigorous processes they pass through before ascension. They will act on it until they join their ancestors. In short, that will determine how they will behave. No one goes to kooso, comes back, and remains an ordinary person.

The Basorun of Oyo, Chief Ayoola Yusuf, in particular, even granted a video interview saying he won’t prostrate to the new Alaafin. People should ask him what other relevance he has in life without an Alaafin. Without an alaafin, he is just yusuff ayoola layinka.

Less than three months after the passage of Oba lamidi, God has already revealed why he (Oba Adeyemi) needed to do all he did to many people. And people have come to a conclusion by saying he should have done even more.

Basorun’s comment was a betraying speech. You had issues with the last occupant, which doesn’t have anything to do with the incoming one. He will prostrate in akesan ancient market public with apologies. People should mark my words.

May Almighty choose Oba lamidi minded person as the new Alaafin of Oyo. We missed him. May his spirit forgive us for having a wrong impression towards him.
