Adeojo Strengthens Ido Security, Donates Cash, Operational Equipment to Police, DSS

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property with the donation of cash and operational equipment to security agencies serving the council area.

The donations were made during a Peace and Security Meeting convened by the chairman, which brought together key stakeholders and heads of security agencies to assess the security situation in the local government and strengthen collaboration towards sustaining peace and public safety.

Speaking at the meeting, Adeojo emphasized that security remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that effective collaboration between government, security agencies and the community is essential for sustainable development.

As part of efforts to enhance the operational capacity of security formations, the council presented a cash donation of ₦200,000 to the Ile-Ido Police Division in support of its ongoing project. Operation Burst received four tyres, while the Apete Police Division was provided with two tyres and a car battery.

The Police Area Command also received a refrigerator, while the Department of State Services (DSS) was presented with an electric water pump to improve its operational efficiency.

The beneficiary security agencies commended the chairman for the timely intervention, describing the donations as a demonstration of his administration’s genuine concern for the welfare of security personnel and its determination to strengthen security across the local government.

They pledged to sustain the existing partnership with the local government and intensify efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property, as well as maintain a peaceful environment for residents.

Among dignitaries present at the meeting were the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Sarafadeen Aminu; the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Victor Adelu; the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ido Local Government Chapter, Pastor Sunday Egbedokun, alongside other government officials, community leaders and security stakeholders.

The meeting underscored the Ido Local Government administration’s resolve to continue supporting security agencies as part of broader efforts to promote peace, stability and grassroots development across the council area.
