ADC crisis: INEC’ll replece Ajadi with Lanlehin’s name next-week- Party Chieftain


A chieftain of African Democratic Congress, ADC in Oyo state Hon. Ladi Oluokun on Saturday expressed hope that the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party will soon be resolved.

He described the consensus arrangement that produced Dr. Oseni Adeniran as candidate of the party in 2019 as kangaroo, saying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will affirmed candidature of senator Olufemi Lanleyin as the authentic party flagbrarer next week.

Oluokun who explained that the party leadership in the state has been informed that Lanleyin’s name had been confirmed by INEC and will be release officially by the commission next week.

He stated this while featuring on a weekly ration programme, aired on an Ibadan-based radio station, Lagelu FM.

He said, ” the state chairman, Hammed Ayinla, national chairman Henry Nwosu, all the National Working Committee and other decisive organs of the party both within the state and federal are fully in support of Senator Lanleyin, so it absurb of anyone or group who had plannes or planning to disturb the peaceful setting of the party in the state”. Hon. Ladi Olukun concluded.

Hon. Ladi said, it is unconstitutional and unwise for a great party like ADC to leave the selection of her governorship candidate in the hands of aspirants, thereby rebuked anyone parading himself as the governorship candidate aside senator Lanleyin who was unanimously chosen my the party leaders.

  • While confirming Dr. Adeniran issued a N5.4 million bounced cheque to obtain his nomination form as alleged, Ladi said, he was surprised hearing Adeniran denying such open secret allegations.
