Orelope Football Competition: Lawmaker Urges Youth To Shun Violence

Lawmaker Representing Irepo/Olorunshogo state constituency at Oyo 9th Assembly, Hon. Kazeem Olayanju (Orelope) has advised youths in his constituency to shun all forms of violence

He gave the advice while addressing youths and football lovers at the opening ceremony of ‘Orelope Football Competition’, which he organised to engage the youths in Igbeti, Headquarters of Olorunshogo Local government. He called for more tolerance and understanding among youths, saying, ”we youth needs to share positive common goals to help each other, our environment, state and country ”.

 
He furthered urged his fellow youths to put all hands on deck to promote peace, unity and the lofty ideals of the current administration in the rural areas. Hon. Olayanju said that the PDP-led administration in the state would continue to initiate peoples-oriented programmes aimed at improving the living standards of the people in which youths will be a major beneficiary.

As youths, you are not expected to associate with any act of violence and thuggery. “I want to charge all of you here to be agents of change and crusaders of peace’’, he said.

Hon. Olayanju explained that, the football competition was organised to strengthen the bond of togetherness in the area, as sports has been identified as a panacea to disunity and conflicts amongst groups in the country.

The Igbeti lawmaker assured the players of an outstanding rewards after the competition final.

The opening match between Orelope FC and United FC ended 2-1 in favour of the United guys.
