The Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Media Team has extended a warm welcome to Hon. Shina Peller following his defection to our party.

In a momentous event held in Iseyin on Thursday, Hon. Peller was received into the PDP by notable leaders, including the deputy governor, Barrister Raheem Adebayo Lawal, who represented Governor Makinde, Chairman Elders Advisory Council, Dr. Saka Balogun, Co-Chairman, Elders Advisory Council, Elder Wole Oyelese, former party chairman in Oyo State, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, Senator Gbenga Babalola, and other distinguished Leaders and Stakeholders

Also present at the event was the South West Zonal Executive led by the Chairman, Alhaji Kamoru Ajisa,fe, and the Oyo State PDP Executives led by the Deputy State Chairman, Hon. James Olukunle.
Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the party’s secretary, Mr. Michael Ogunsina, the acting publicity secretary, and the youth leader of the party in the state were also on the ground at the epoch-making event

The well-attended Rally which took place at the prestigious Ojúde Ọba in Iseyin was a good opportunity to remind the good people of Oyo State of the good works of our Governor and Foremost Principal, Engr. Seyi Makinde and how his good governance and politics with a human face have positioned our party to be the bride of all.

We urge those contemplating joining the PDP to take the step, as our party possesses the capacity to accommodate them and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo State.

Furthermore, we call out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State for its unwarranted, needless, and baseless attacks on the Oyo State Government. The APC’s lack of credibility to criticize the state government is evident, given its failure to address the challenges inflicted on the people of Oyo State and Nigeria by the APC-controlled federal government.

The APC should redirect its efforts towards alleviating the hardships experienced by Nigerians since assuming power in 2015. Attempting to sow discord between the people of Oyo State and the government of Engr Seyi Makinde is futile, as the people are enlightened and recognize who truly has their interests at heart. If the APC feels they have done well by Nigerians, they should hold a major event in the State to see if people would not stone them.

It is no brainer that the APC as a dying party cannot get itself acquainted with different measures the Seyi Makinde-led administration has put in place to ameliorate the sufferings of the people of Oyo State. This is because we have always known the APC as a colony of lazy people who are also bereft of ideas. This much is shown in the watery press statement released by its half-educated publicity secretary.

Hon. Shina Abiola Peller’s Defection and the many more to come in the forthcoming weeks is a testament to the fact Oyo APC is in a comatose state and no serious politician will be associated with them.

We believe the APC is trying to get back into people’s reckoning which we firmly believe won’t save them from the imminent defeat at the local government election scheduled to hold in April. Oyo State voters and electorates have become wiser and they know the PDP is their best bet at the grassroots.

We urge the APC in Oyo State to focus on encouraging the few remnants in their party and stop hallucinating about their return to the Agodi Government House.
