A non-profit organization, Women for Greater Good Foundation (WGGF) has set up an intensive tech training program for young Nigerian women.
The program tagged, MoremiTechDev is expected to run for 3 months with orientation on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at Leaders Hub No 18, Dejo Oyelese Street, off Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo state.
30 Young Women will be empowered during the 12-week program with a target of 3000 ladies in the next 3 years of operation.
According to Fatima Hassan
Founder/Executive Director of Women for Greater Good Foundation, she said her foundation in partnership with, a tech firm, Astroidegita Technologies is set the engage the Nigerian youths in learning tech skills to make them self-reliant, rather than waiting for non-existent white-collar opportunities
” Our organization, Women for Greater Good Foundation (WGGF) is a non-profitable foundation, founded in 2015 to birth a new generation of reformed women. We advocate the rights of women/girls and more intentionally support women living with disabilities to live a fulfilled life.
” In fulfilling our objectives, WGGF have partnered with Astroidegita Technologies for an intensive tech training program designed for young Nigerian women between ages of 18 to 35.
” This program ” MoremiTechDev ” aims to equip young women with the skills and knowledge necessary to build sustainable and fulfilling careers in the tech industry.
” We already shortlisted 30 promising young women for high-quality training skills and resources, cohort 1 orientation is scheduled for Saturday Saturday, July 13th, at Leaders Hub No 18, Dejo Oyelese Street, off Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija, Ibadan
” All participants will be trained in various courses such as Introduction to Technology Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI), LinkedIn and Portfolio Building, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Product Design (UI/UX), while program components: Bootcamps,
Workshops and Seminars, Mentorship Program
Our target is to equip over 3000 young Nigerian women within the next 3 years of operation, we want to help them
achieve financial independence and contribute meaningfully to the tech ecosystem in Nigeria in line with SDGs 4 and 5 by promoting gender equality,” Fatima Hassan stated.
