We’II Assist Victims Of Bodija Market Inferno – Ibadan North Chair

Hon. Yusuff Saib Oladayo, The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, says the government will assist traders who lost their shops and wares in Monday’s fire incident at the Bodija Market.

Agba Egbe pledged a few hours after the inferno, while he visited the scene of the incident to sympathize with the traders and ascertain the extent of the damage.

It was reported that the popular and the biggest market in Oyo state gutted fire in the early hours of Monday, 11th 2022 and for the timely intervention of the state fire service in Oyo state, the fire was reportedly put out.

The council chairman described the incident as pathetic and promised that the government at the local level would in his capacity make sure the basic things are put in place.

Agba said; “I sympathize with you on this incident, especially you women trying to earn a living and keep body and soul together. This is indeed a very pathetic incident, and it’s sad the incident occurred at a time we all need to rest and enjoy the holidays”.

He further stressed that “Residents should cultivate the habit of turning off their electrical appliances, not in use. It should be part and parcel of Our everyday life, as it will help us all avert future occurrences.
