We Will Not Misused Power To Arrest And Prosecute Criminals – NSCDC Assures Oyo Lawmakers
Oyo state Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, ISIKILU AKINSAYA has assured that his command will continue to guarantee adequate security of lives and property of the people.
AKINSAYA gave the assurance today in his office, while hosting members of the Oyo state House of Assembly Committee on Security and Strategies.
The NSCDC boss pledged that the power to arrest and prosecute criminals, which has earned them better recognition and respect in the face of the public, will not be misused while discharging their statutory duties.
He however noted that inadequate vehicles and communication equipments were some of the problems hindering their operations, appealing to government to as a matter of public interest address them.
Earlier, the committee chairman, Hon. AKEEM OBADARA commended NSCDC personnels for their display of professional competence during the #Endsars protest, urging them to keep up the good work to enable them enjoy the public confidence they have garnered.
Another member of the committee, Hon. Kazeem Olayanju also charged the officers not to derail from their civil conducts to ensure a lasting support from the people of the state.
