We Have Lost An Icon – Olopoeyan Pays Tribute To Ex Oyo gov. Akala
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Adebisi Olopoeyan has paid a tribute to former Oyo state governor, Otunba Alao Akala who died on Wednesday morning in his Ogbomosho home at the age of 71.
Olopoeyan extended deepest condolences to Akala’s wife, Oluwakemi Akala, his son, Hon Olamiju Akala, loved family, people of Ogbomoso as well as the government and people of Oyo State.
The OYO state PDP chieftain stated this in his condolence message on the death of the highly revered statesman who was, until his death, among the few titans of modern Oyo state politics.
Oyo PDP chieftain expressed his belief that people of Oyo state owes a great debt to the former governor, explained that, late Akala was an uncommon political leader and rare administrator.
“ His death is general loss, it unfortunate His excellency Otunba Christopher Alao Akala had gone with his wealth of experience, he came, he saw and he conquered. He left us at a crucial time we needed him, good by forever, your excellency sir”. Olopoeyan mourns.
Olopoeyan prayed that, the memory of the departed former governor will remain a blessing to Oyo state even as he finds perfect peace with Almighty God in heaven.
