A devastating incident has occurred in Odo Babaode, Eruwa, in the Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State, where a 28-year-old electrician lost his life after being electrocuted while working on a high-tension cable.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim was attempting to rectify an electrical fault on the active power lines belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) without shutting down the feeder
The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the electrician’s instant electrocution.
The Oyo State Fire Service received a distress call at 3:29 pm and promptly dispatched a team to the scene. Upon arrival, the firefighters found the victim already deceased and took necessary precautions to secure the area. The body has been handed over to the Eruwa Police Station for further investigation.
