On Sunday night, August 13, 2023, Miss Rebecca Oreoluwa Ogunnaike was crowned the winner of “Miss Ibadan 2023” at the first edition of Miss Ibadan Pageants and Awards held at Tafo Arena Event Centre, sponsored by the Aderonke Omo Dairo Foundation.
Rebecca Ogunnaike, a third-year medical student at the University of Ibadan(UI), is a dedicated student leader, freelance writer, and talented vocalist.
Alongside her academic pursuits, Ogunnaike actively contributes to the community as a serial volunteer, notably with Cardio Health, an NGO focused on cardiovascular health advocacy and outreach.
Currently, Ogunnaike is serving as the Deputy Congress Chancellor of the University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association, and she was recently crowned “Miss Ibadan 2023”. Rebecca aspires to make a lasting impact within Ibadan, and she aims to eventually lead the World Health Organisation.
After her win, Miss Rebecca Ogunnaike thanked Dr. Aderonke Dairo for impacting the Ibadan community positively and also addressed the other 26 contestants, saying, “My win is our win. We just made history in Oyo State. Miss Ibadan and award organisations congratulated her for her historic win.
Rebecca was presented with a winning price of 1 million naira, alongside a diamond crown worth N650k and other mouth-watering prices.
The Miss Ibadan Pageant is a pageant targeted at promoting our culture, tourism, and lifestyle to the wider world.
