Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government and Chairman of all PDP Chairmen in Oyo State (2018–2021), Prince Seun Adelore, has called on politicians to pursue personal development and not rely solely on politics for their identity or future.

Adelore who served as the Chairman of the PDP in Ibadan North Local Government widely regarded as the largest local government area in Oyo State also stepped down as the Chairman of Chairmen across the 33 local government areas in the state.

He resigned in his letter dated July 7, 2025.

Adelore cited what he described as deep-seated injustice within the party, a lack of reward for loyalty, and a growing departure from democratic principles.

He stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with his political base across the state and was guided by a commitment to personal integrity and democratic ideals.

According to Adelore, the PDP in Oyo State is increasingly being run like a private enterprise by select factions, undermining the collective spirit and transparency that should define party politics.

He expressed concern over what he called “vindictiveness, high-handedness, and a disregard for human dignity” within the current administration.

The former Waste Management Chairman lamented the erosion of core values and the growing culture of intolerance and imposition within the system.

But speaking after his official Call-to-Bar ceremony, Adelore reflected on how stepping away from partisan politics gave him the clarity and freedom to pursue his long-held dream of becoming a lawyer.

“Politics almost wasted eight years of my life, if not for God,” Adelore said. “Despite envy, time-wasting tactics, and deliberate efforts to block opportunities, I chose resilience. It is time for politicians to get second address, rather than focusing on politics.”

Adelore, who formally resigned from the PDP after being sidelined within the party, credited that decision as the turning point in his life. He emphasized that the experience, though painful, ultimately led him to personal growth and professional fulfillment.

“Every obstacle became a stepping stone, and each moment of doubt transformed into motivation,” he said. “This achievement is not just a personal victory; it represents years of sacrifice and perseverance.”

He urged fellow politicians to develop a “second address”  a non-political career or skill that can sustain them beyond the uncertain terrain of political life.

“Politics is not a lifetime guarantee. You need something else that gives you purpose and stability. I chose the law. Others should find theirs.”

Adelore said he now looks forward to a future where he can combine his passion for justice and public service, committing himself to advocacy and legal excellence.
