Physically Challenged Persons Storm Makinde’s Office, Demand 5% Of TESCOM Job Promised

Hundreds of physically challenged persons in Oyo state on Monday morning stormed Oyo state government secretariat, Agodi Ibadan to protest against marginalization of their recruitment into Oyo State Post Primary Schools Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

The physically disadvantage persons said they are all from the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State, they were seeing blocking the entrance of state government Secretariat, Ibadan.

 

The protesters who were clamouring for presence of the governor caused an heavy gridlock, in and out of the state secretariat.

Speaking to our reporter, Adekunbi Adeleke one of the protester said, TESCOM, the commission decided to sidelined the physically challenged that applied for the TESCOM job in the state against governor Seyi Makinde promise.

” Governor Makinde promised us ( Physically Challenged ) that, 5% of the slots will be giving to us, that, physically challenged will aslo be absorbed into teaching service but reversed was the case, TESCOM had given our slots to the abled”.

“ Out of 7000 employed for the teaching job, they supposed to give us 5%,which is 350. They gave us 149 instead of 350. That is the reason we are here”.

” We dont want this to happen again with Non-Teaching recruitment, we want the Governor to come,  we want him to intervene, we want justice before it too late.

” We are here also to demand for more slots for the non-teaching “, he stated.
