In its ongoing effort to promote youth empowerment and self-reliance, the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, and Investment, has launched a comprehensive skills acquisition programme targeting over 1,500 youths across the state.

The initiative, centered on the Nigerian Artisans and Technicians Conference (NATO), is an annual event being organized by the Federal Government.

However, the exhibition is designed to equip participants with hands-on skills in the Installation of CCTV, Security Fencing Systems, Automated Doors, Smart Locks, and Solar Lock Panels, and other vocational areas critical to today’s economy.

The 3-day training session is scheduled to take place at Adamasingba Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Tuesday 4th to Thursday 6th November, 2025.

While speaking on the importance of the training, the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration’s steadfast commitment to empowering young people through capacity building and entrepreneurship initiatives.

> “This programme is more than a training exercise — it is a life-changing opportunity for our young people to acquire practical knowledge that will make them self-sufficient and productive members of society,” he said.

Also speaking, the Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Co-operative, Hon. Adeniyi Olabode Adebisi emphasized that the partnership reflects the government’s determination to address unemployment and foster innovation-driven economic growth.

> “By providing the necessary technical and business skills, we are helping to build a new generation of entrepreneurs who will not only earn a living but also create jobs for others,” she noted.
