Oyo Has Realised 6 Million After Prosecution Of Over 200 Offenders – Task Force Chairman
The chairman, Oyo state environmental taskforce, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Francis Ojomo has explained that the state taskforce had prosecuted over 200 individuals for various offences and realised #6 million for the government .
He made this known to pressmen after prosecution and sanctioned of 10 persons for violating the state environmental laws through a special tribunal.
The offenders arrested at different locations within the state were tried by the environmental taskforce tribunal at the environmental task force at Agodi, Ibadan.
Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Idowu Oyeleke, while addressing newsmen stressed that the state would continue to arrest those who are bent to sabotage the efforts of the government in achieving clean, safe and healthy environment in Oyo state
In a remark, the Special Assistant to governor Seyi Makinde on youth and sports who is also a member of the newly constituted task force on waste management in the State, Mr. Kazeem Bolarinwa said that the newly constituted committee would ensure that environmental law defaulters did not go unpunished.
