Oyo #EndSARS Protest Group Divides Over State Govt #1m Gifts

Following a cash of 1 Million naira given to EndSARS protesters by governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday after a Town Hall meeting held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, some of the youth protesters have rejected the money, said, #EndSARS protest don’t need government fund.

As said by Kayode Babayomi, a.k.a ” Apostle Kay ” in a short video posted on social media, he said he was part of the #EndSARS protesters that attended Oyo state government Town Hall meeting with governor Seyi Makinde but not in support of Oyo state government giving them money as a result of their coordinated #EndSAR protests in Oyo state.

According to him, he said : “We came here for meeting, but after the agenda of the meeting had been diverted and jeopardised, so the so called government of Oyo state gave #EndSARS protesters #1 Million, I Kayode insisted that the money should be returned back to the state government, as the funding of EndSARS doesn’t include the government and we dont need a single dime from government, after I said this, some group ( mini) , members insisted the money must be shared.


” Me and other comrades like Alasiri, Smitch, Kay-Jay, Dukes all spoke for the voiceless, we stood against them that the money should not be shared, but to be returned.

” Short after that, they mobilized thugs, to come and harass us, pointing at me that , I am the ring leader of those who don’t want the money to be shared. He said.

Apostle Kay stated further by mentioning Ibadan Polytechnic Student Union president and NANs Zone D chairman as the heads of the group who called for the sharing of Oyo state government cash gift.
