Oyo Assembly Lawmaker, Olayanju Empowers Youths, Women, Farmers With Vocational Equipment, Gifts Cash In Oke Ogun
Member representing Irepo/Olorunsogo constituency in the Oyo House of Assembly, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju ” Orelope” has organised an empowerment scheme, provided vocational equipment for youths, women and farmers in his constituency.
The empowerment programme took place on Sunday, February 27th, at UMCA Ogunbode Memorial Grammar School, Igbeti.
Olayanju while addressing journalists at the event said the programme was organised in order to let more of his people benefit from dividend of democracy.
He said, “This is another empowerment programme an addition to what we have been doing since I was elected. From first month in office, we have been helping our people to boast their various bussineses, giving scholarship to students and obtaining of JAMB forms for Indigent students.
” In infrastructure, there is an ongoing construction of Igbeti Mini sports complex, we have drilled boreholes for some communities that are in need of water, also had repaired some old erected non-functional boreholes, now functioning.
” Moreso, with our efforts, some of the unemployed youth in our constituency are now gainfully employed, some are now working with Oyo State Hospital Management Board, AMOTEKUN security outfit, TESCOM just to mention few, also my recommendation has secured jobs for some others.
” Also in sports, We gave financial assistance to the organiser of ” Exercise is Medicine at Kishi, financial support to the organizer of a festive football competition also at Kishi, the final match of second Orelope football competition was played today, Orelope football competition is an annual football competition, it is a rewarding football competition, we gave out Medals and cash prizes to the winner, first and second runner-up. This is one of the areas we are using to engage our youths. Matches refree and Igbeti Football Association were also rewarded.
“ So, today’s empowerment programme, is just a continuation of what we promised, we have shared Sewing machines, Refrigerators, POS Machines, Farm Sprayers, Grinding machines, distributed cash to assist small scale business owners and alot of other items”. Hon. Olayanju stated.
The lawmaker said, the gesture is a way of appreciating his constituents for finding him worthy to represent them and majorly at alleviating poverty.
“ This is just part of what we promised our people before election, we have been reaching out to many of our people, but this one is another empowerment, thou, we can’t provide for all at once, those that are unable to get empowerment items this time will surely be catered for during the next empowerment programme ”. Hon. Olayanju added.
He urged PDP members and people of his constituency to stay committed and remain faithful to the party and governor Seyi Makinde.
He thereafter called on all the beneficiaries to take advantage of opportunity they got to made judicious use of the items given to them.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr Isiaka Suleiman expressed his excitement for receiving a Sewing machine from the lawmaker, said Hon. Olayanju had totally lifted a burden off his shoulders. ” I prayed that the good Lord continue to elevate Hon.Oorelope, he has just made a dream come true for me, he is a true representative”.
