A group in Oyo APC, Integrate Progressives, has berated a move by Oyo Assembly PDP lawmakers led by Hon. Debo Ogundoyin and effort of Oyo PDP leaders to override constitution power of the elected lawmakers in Oyo state.

The group in a released statement made available to westerndailynews on Monday evening told Rt. Hon. Debo to stopped been babyish as the leader of the House at a time to exercise his constitutional power.

While warning Hon. Debo, as a speaker of the House not to continue to put Oyo state Assembly into a national and international shame as he and his fellow 9th Assembly lawmakers are already tagged as a dummy, rubber stamp legislators, the group urged the speakers and his fellow PDP lawmakers to stop being puppets for governor Makinde and state PDP.

The group, through their spokesman, Alhaji Adebanjo Adebare, said, it a shame seeing Oyo Assembly principal officers in pictures deliberating the affairs of state in their party state office, stated that Hon. Debo and his lawmakers are ready to add more palm oil to their already stained garment if they reversed the indefinite suspension given to the erring caretaker Chairmen as ordered by governor Makinde and leaders of their party.

” First, we will like to commend Oyo House of Assembly lawmakers for taken a very good action by sanctioning some caretaker chairmen in the state for non – compliance after asked to submit a comprehensive report on the status of the earth moving equipment in their respective domains and their usage on repairing roads to ease movement of agricultural produce and passengers.

” But it is very saddened that Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, the speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly and his fellow PDP state lawmakers will continue to show their immature and lack of legislative responsibility to the extent of selling out their constitutional power to their party leaders at PDP Office, Molete.

” Many in the state had thought, Hon. Debo and his boys had woke up from slumber and ready to perform their constitutional duties without total control by governor Makinde after they slammed an indefinite suspension on 13 Caretaker Chairmen of local governments and LCDAs in the state to curb their nonchalant attitude towards their responsibilities in their various council and respect to the state lawmakers but, we were so surprised that, just days after, our lawmakers made U-turn, succumbed to bullies and pressure from power that be in their party, agreed to reinstate the council chairmen that looked down on Assembly power, maybe they had forgotten the whole world do watches their plenary weekly through streaming.

” It is so quick of Hon. Debo to show how week and helpless he is at the helm of running the constitutional affairs of Oyo state House of Assembly. After so many errors committed, he and is principal officers stood so low, bowed before their state party chairman to relinquished the constitutional power vested on them.

Now, how will those people we elected as lawmakers explain to the people of the state that power-that-be in the government are the one dictating what to do during their plenary for them ?

” Calling Oyo state 9th Assembly lawmakers a rubber stamp is an understatement but addressing them as mere political chickens is more befitting” the group lamented
