Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) defeated visitors Plateau United 2-1 in Matchday one of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Oluyole Warriors got the curtain raiser via a thumping header from Ayobami Adekunle who was making his debut.
He nodded the ball into the net in the 37th minute after an excellent cross from left back Olawale Muritala.
Muritala registered two assists as he found the head of substitute Anayor Ogbonna in the 76th minute to double the advantage.
However, 3SC barely enjoined the 2-0 lead, as Uche Onwonsanya reduced the deficit.
All efforts from both sides to score another proved abortive as 3SC claim the maximum points at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex.
