Meets Funmilayo Okiki-olu Orisadeyi, Oyo Commissioner For Local Government And Chieftaincy Matters
As a woman of virtue and epitome of outstanding performances, Hon. Funmilayo Okiki-olu Orisadeyi again was called to serve the people of Oyo state as she and 13 others commisoner nominees got sworn in by executive governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde.
Ex Oyo lawmaker, Hon. Funmilayo Okiki-olu Orisadeyi on Thursday at the Executive Chamber office of the Governor took oath of office as Commissione for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
Hon. Funmilayo Okiki-olu Orisadeyi was born on 6th July, 1957 to the family of Late Pa Samson Oluwole Omoye Compound of Tapa town in Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State.
She attended Methodist Primary School, Tapa for her First School Leaving Certificate in 1963 to 1973. She proceeded to Baptist Secondary Modern School Ayete in 1974 to 1977 where she obtained her Secondary School Certificate, she further her education at Divisional Teacher Training College, 1980 to 1983 to obtained Grade II Certificate. She attended University of Ibadan where she got her Grade I Certificate in 1989 to 1990.
Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi worked as a Class Teacher in many schools. She was a teacher in H.L.A Oke-Oba Eruwa, Baptist Primary School Maya, St. Michael Primary School Aborerin in Eruwa, Ebenezer A.C School Eruwa, CAC School II, Sango Ibadan and CAC School I, Obadare Sango Ibadan all between the year 1979 to 1990 before She retired on 2nd May 1990 to join Politics.
Hon Funmilayo Orisadeyi attended Mount Zion Institute of Christian Drama where she obtained her O’Level and A’Level Certificate in Christian Movies and she later attended Several Professional Training, Programmes, Seminars, Workshops and Conferences both in Nigeria and Overseas. She was the Producer of the most widely sold films of Ile-Ariwo, Gbajumo among others.
Funmi Orisadeyi has foundly called by her peers, started her Political career in NRC as Oyo State Women Coordinator and was later nominated as State Assistant Secretary of the said party. She was the UNCP Oyo State Welfare Officer. Also, she was Oyo State Women Leader for Republican Convention Party, She was the only Woman Co-ordinator for Poverty Alleviation Programme (PAP) Oyo State in 1990. She was the only Woman amongst the PDP Local Government Party Chairmen in 2005-2007.
Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi believes in Abraham Lincoln postulate that every man owes humanity to live every society better than he met it, she contested and won the 2007 election into the Oyo State House of Assembly under the platform of PDP representing Ibarapa North/Ibarapa Central State Constituency where she was the only woman amongst her contemporaries. She was equally the Chairman House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters. She was the Coordinator Oyo State Grassroots Women for Atiku/Obi 2019 electioneering campaign. Before her appointment as Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, She was aspiring for Ibarapa North Local Government Council Chairman.
Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi married to Pastor Gideon Oluniyi Orisadeyi and were blessed with Children.
