Makinde Reappoints Ogundiran With EFCC Fraud Case

The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde on Friday reappointed, Dr. Samuel Ogundiran who is battling with financial misappropriation case with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibadan zonal office.

Makimde appointed him as Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa (now Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic).

As Makinde announced the appointment of the chairmen of the governing councils of the state-owned tertiary institutions which included Dr. Ogundiran Samuel Ogunwale as The Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa, Chairman, there have being mixed reaction over his appointment both within the school and outside the academic environment it was revealed that Dr. Ogundiran is have a misappropriation case with EFCC in Ibadan.

Dr. Ogundiran was first appointed as chairman, governing council The Ibarapa Polytechnic by late Ajimobi and his arrest came few hours after Ajimobi completed his second tenure in office as Governor before reappointed by governor Makinde fewOgundiran.

It was gathered that, Ogundiran was arrested by the EFCC in Ibadan, the State capital on Tuesday May 28, 2019 over alleged financial misappropriation.

He was accused of approving and paying furniture allowances to members of the Council.

Westerndailynews gathered that
that the commission had earlier invited Ogundiran and his council members for interrogations which they declined until they were forcefully arrested

It was learnt that Ogundiran was released on administrative bail after furnishing the commission the necessary information needed last year but the case in still ongoing as at the time governor Makinde reappointed him as school governing board.
