The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has maintained his commitment towards expanding the state economy and unlocking some of the potentials in the state.
Governor Makinde gave the assurance while hosting some foreign Agric investors who paid him a courtesy visit at his Ikolaba residence on Thursday.
Receiving the delegation of some foreign Agric investors led by The Executive Adviser to the Governor on Agribusiness, Dr. Debo Akande, the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde expressed his willingness to partner with investors in Agric-business, saying that they had come to the right place, as Agric-business is no-brainer to the present administration and entire people of the state.
While expressing how the present administration has been able to use infrastructure to boost its economy, Governor Makinde, said that his government has linked 70-80% of the state geographical zones, charging the visitors to explore the advantage of its suitable weather for their Agric-business.
Earlier in his address, the leaders of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, Michael Schmidt said the organization’s mission to the state was to explore the state investment opportunities and connect other business partners as well as local governments to industrialize the state.
Also Speaking the Country’s Director, of Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, (AGRA), Rufus Idris, said his organization is interested in partnering with and complementing the efforts of Governor Makinde in developing the state Agric sector, noting that Oyo state is an agrarian state and has been doing well in Agricultural innovation.
