LG Polls: Ido PDP Stakeholders Purchase Chairmanship Nomination Form, To Present Whoever Becomes Consensus Candidate
The People’s Democratic Party stakeholders in the Ido local government area of Oyo state in their quest to install discipline and promote peace in the party have taken charge of the process of the primary of the local government chairmanship election in the local government.
The stakeholders after denied endorsing any aspirant for the ticket on Friday made an effort to buy the chairmanship expression of interest, nomination forms,
for yet to emerge chairmanship candidate.
It will be recalled that Westerndailynews.com reported how the Ido local government stakeholders disassociated themselves from the purported endorsement of the current council chairman, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo as the sole candidate, saying a consensus candidate will be picked on merit and not imposed.
In their determination to avoid imposition and give a sense of belongings to all aspirants, the council stakeholders on Friday raised money to buy the single expression of interest, nomination forms for Ido local government PDP.
Stating why they make the move, the lawmaker representing the Ido constituency at Oyo state assembly Hon. Rasaq Mobaje said, the stakeholders try to meet the closing date for the form buying and submission, while still on the verge of picking a consensus candidate.
” As we said, no consensus yet, but soon we will announce the preferred aspirant as candidate” Ido PDP chairman stated
A two-term former council chairman,
Isiaka Adeola confirmed that the stakeholders in Ido local government had secured the chairmanship form, for yet to be announced consensus candidate, he said they made the move to beat the deadline for forms sales, and added that the effort is still ongoing for the selection of an aspirant as a candidate for the chairmanship election.
Also corroborating the action, Mukaila Deikola said, as of Friday when the nomination and interest forms are closing, we have no candidate in local government, but by tomorrow a capable, reliable, and upright candidate will emerge.
” The stakeholders bought the form today, ( Friday ), it will be given to any aspirant we adopted as a candidate tomorrow.
” Ido stakeholders adopted this move in order not to repeat past mistakes, it is important to follow the process to following order to have a good result
