LG Elections: Oyo OYSIEC Clears NNPP Chairmanship, Councilorship Candidates

As the Oyo local government government
elections that would take place in February next year draw closer, the Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) on Friday cleared all candidates presented by the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP.

 

It will be recalled, that the Oyo State Electoral Commission on Monday, 30th October 2023 commenced the screening exercise for candidates contesting for Chairmanship and Councilorship seats in the forthcoming local government council elections in the state.

The Oyo NNPP state chairman, Mr. Sunday Adeosun who led the party candidates to OYSIEC state office in Ibadan commended the ongoing activities of the electoral commission and its preparation for next year’s local government election.

” Our party members and candidates came to the OYSIEC office today for local government election screening, having done the verification of their tax clearance, and certificates, it is good news that, all the candidates we presented were cleared. We thanked the OYSIEC for not bias and meticulous job.

 

 

 

On” With the clearance of our chairmen and counselors today, it means we are progressing as a parting contesting for our election. I have said it before and will keep saying that, NNPP, is contesting to win chairmanship and councilor posts in the forthcoming local government election.

 

Adeosun expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the screening by the OYSIEC and said the commission is showing its readiness to conduct a free and fair election in the state.
