Chief Adebayo Adelabu, minister of power, has donated millions of naira to Oyo State All Progressives Congress, to support the party’s local government chairmanship and councilorship candidates for the April 27th state local government elections.
The minister donated during his visit to the state party secretary at Oke Ado, on Sunday.
Adelabu who officially returned to the APC with his loyalists from the Accord Party (AP) last December, said the gesture is to assist all the party candidates to secure victory at the poll. He added that the APC would win with or without the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
He gave all the local government chairmanship candidates N200,000 each, and N10m to all the Councillorship candidates.
Adelabu also gave all state party executives N1m with an extra N500,000 for transportation. All Zonal leaders received N500,000, all Women leaders also got N500,000, and N500,000 for the Youth wing.
Adelabu also gave all the 33 local government party chairmen N500,000
for their transportation, while all the party office staff receive N200,000 from the power minister.
The minister, in his statement, appealed to the aggrieved party members to come back to the fold of the party and forge a formidable team so as to achieve victory during the coming election
