The New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP founder and Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Chief Boniface Aniebonam and the Southwest leader of the party, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, on Sunday meet in Lagos amidst a crisis rocking the party at the national.
Olopoeyan and the NNPP BoT Boniface Aniebonam had been at a separate loggerhead with the 2023 presidential candidate of the party, senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Aniebonam and his faction had last year suspended, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, from the party, while Olopoeyan-led NNPP in Oyo state last month had also passed a vote of no confidence in former Kano state governor, both in their separate clams cited Kwankwaso political greediness and lack of respect for the party constitution.
