Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeojo made the declaration on Thursday during a PDP Local Government meeting held in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, where he also donated electric bikes to party chairmen in the council.
Addressing party members and stakeholders at the meeting, Adeojo said his ambition was driven by a desire to deliver meaningful development and improve the welfare of constituents.
“Today, I stand before you to formally declare my ambition to serve as your representative for Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency. Together, we will drive progress, empower our people, and deliver dividends of democracy,” he said.
The event was attended by PDP stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from across the local government, reflecting growing support for his aspiration.
Adeojo, who currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, said he would focus on attracting federal interventions in key sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, and security if elected.
He described the donation of electric bikes as a symbol of innovation and progress, adding that it also reflects his commitment to supporting party structure and grassroots mobilization.
Speaking at the event, the PDP Chairman in Ido Local Government, Musibau Emiola, commended the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of Adeojo’s leadership qualities and vision for the constituency.
The declaration is expected to set the stage for political activities ahead of the next general elections in the constituency.
