Ido PDP Leaders Dismiss Endorsement Claims, Warn Against ‘False Hope’

Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have denied claims that they ratified and presented Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji and Hon. Rafiu Omotosho as preferred candidates for the House of Representatives and the Oyo State House of Assembly, respectively.
In a communiqué issued after a stakeholders’ meeting, the party leaders clarified that no such endorsement was made, stressing that the meeting held at B4 Hotel and Suites in Ido was convened solely to receive Hon. Ademola Ige, who sought their support for his senatorial ambition.

The leaders stated that neither Adedeji nor Omotosho was discussed during the meeting, describing reports of their purported endorsement as false and misleading. They maintained that no amount of intimidation or propaganda would alter their earlier consensus decision backing Hon. Sheriff Adeojo as the PDP’s candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency.
Reaffirming their position, the stakeholders emphasized that Engr. Adedeji was not selected as the House of Representatives candidate, just as Hon. Omotosho was not adopted as the party’s candidate for the State House of Assembly. They added that those promoting such claims were “wasting their time and chasing illusions.”
The PDP leaders further cautioned the two aspirants against what they described as reliance on “false assurances” from individuals allegedly attempting to influence the process through inducement.
They reiterated that the consensus arrangement in support of Hon. Adeojo remains intact and binding, insisting that nothing would change their collective decision.

Signatories to the communiqué include prominent party stakeholders such as Alhaji Issa Alabanla, Alhaji Adelabu Alaba, Alhaji Diekola Mukiala, Alhaji Ibrahim Tiamiyu, Alhaji Atilola Tajudeen, Alhaji Lawal Asimiyu, Mr Tirimisiyu Lamidi, and Mr Lateef Fashola
