Ido LG Chairman Inspects 6.5km Wire and Cable Road Project, Reaffirms Commitment to Infrastructure

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has inspected the ongoing 6.5-kilometre Wire and Cable Road project, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that will improve the living standards of residents across the council area.

The inspection covered the project corridor stretching from Wire and Cable through Ita Faaji, Opopin, Olunde Junction, Oganla and All Saints College Road, terminating at Akinju Close.

During the visit, the Chairman was received by the Baale Apena, Chief Lateef Adegoke, who presented him with a Letter of Appreciation in recognition of his commitment to community development and the execution of the road project.

Also speaking during the inspection, the Baale of Lasokun, Chief Mohammed Tijani Bello, commended the council chairman for prioritising the road project, noting that it would significantly improve transportation and socio-economic activities within the affected communities.

Similarly, the Mogaji of Lasokun, Alhaji Muyideen Dada, expressed gratitude to the chairman for his dedication to infrastructural development and the welfare of the people.

Hon. Adeojo later undertook a detailed assessment of the project’s progress, interacting with contractors and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the work meets the required specifications and is completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Speaking after the inspection, the council chairman lauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his sustained commitment to infrastructure development across the state. He said the governor’s visionary leadership and support for grassroots development had created an enabling environment for local governments to execute impactful projects that directly benefit residents.

Adeojo reiterated his administration’s resolve to complement the state’s developmental agenda by delivering durable infrastructure capable of improving connectivity, stimulating economic activities and enhancing the quality of life of the people of Ido Local Government.

He stressed that his administration would continue to prioritise projects that address the needs of residents while ensuring value for public funds through strict supervision and quality delivery.

The inspection was attended by the Secretary of the Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; the Chief of Staff, Mr. Abdulazeez Yahya; the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen; the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Adelu Victor; and the Chairman of the Community Development Council (CDC), Engr. Tunde Salaudeen.
