The Secretary of the Ido Local Government APM Alliance, Abiodun Fadeyibi Apacino, has challenged the APC Oyo South Senatorial candidate, Hon. Remi Oseni, to fulfil his alleged unfulfilled promises to residents of Ido Local Government before embarking on new project flag-offs ahead of the 2027 general election.

The APM chieftain, who expressed concern over the proposed flag-off of new bridge projects at Poopola and Oloruntumo, urged Oseni to prioritise the completion of previously promised projects, particularly the Odo-Egbelede–Omi-Adio Road and Jiboye–Omi-Adio Road.

He said it would be inappropriate for the lawmaker to embark on new project flag-offs for political gains while commitments allegedly made to the people during his 2023 campaign remain unfulfilled.

“Charity begins at home. Before flagging off new bridges at Poopola and Oloruntumo for 2027 cameras, come and fulfil your unfulfilled promises on Odo-Egbelede–Omi-Adio and Jiboye–Omi-Adio roads,” he said.

He maintained that Ido residents would no longer be swayed by political promises and ceremonial project flag-offs without corresponding efforts to ensure completion.

“If you are serious about development, finish the projects you promised during your 2023 campaign before starting another abandoned project. The people of Ido are watching, and we will not be fooled,” he added.

The APM Alliance secretary further cautioned residents of Oyo South Senatorial District against what he described as unfulfilled campaign promises, alleging that Oseni made several commitments during the 2023 electioneering period, including financial assistance, road grading, provision of boreholes, transformers and other community development projects.

He alleged that many of these promises had yet to materialise, calling on the APC candidate to demonstrate his commitment to the people through tangible results rather than fresh political assurances.

The APM chieftain warned that the handling of such commitments could have electoral consequences for Oseni in the 2027 general election, insisting that voters would assess political office seekers based on their records and delivery on promises.

He stressed that the people of Ido and other communities across Oyo South deserved accountable representation and sustainable development rather than what he described as politically motivated project announcements.

Editorial note: The allegations have been attributed to the APM Alliance secretary and should be independently verified. Hon. Remi Oseni’s response should also be sought before publication to ensure balanced reporting.
