Ibarapa APC Initiative Congratulates Ex-Lawmaker, Adepoju Over Appointment, Urges Tinubu To Engage More Ibarapa Indigenes
An Oyo All Progressives Congress initiative in Ibarapaland has sent a congratulatory message to former federal lawmaker, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, over his recent appointment as a board member of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
While in the lower legislative chamber, Sunday represented the Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency of Oyo state. He served two terms in the house: first, between 2011 and 2015, and second, between 2015 and 2019.
The appointment was announced in a statement on Tuesday by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Media & Publicity.
In a released statement signed and made available to journalists by Engr Wale Adeoye and Hon.(Alhaja) Ramota Okemakinde, the chairman and secretary of the initiative, they said the appointment Sunday Adepoju was well deserved, having served the government meritoriously, as well as in recognition of his immense contribution to the victory of APC in the last general election.
While congratulating him, the Ibarapa initiate urged Hon. Sunday Adepoju to be diligent in his new assignment and continue to be a good ambassador of Ibarapaland.
The statement read: ” The Ibarapa APC Initiative wishes to rejoice with and congratulate Honourable Sunday Adepoju on his recent appointment as a Board Member of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This appointment is in recognition of your track record of remarkable performance while in public office, and it is also a reward for your invaluable contributions to the APC electoral victory in the last general elections. We therefore strongly believe that you will not betray the confidence and trust reposed in you by Mr President by bringing to bear your wealth of experience and ensuring that our Tertiary Institutions are given rapid growth and infrastructural face-lift during your tenure.
Your appointment is also symbolic to us all in Ibarapaland, as it is the first ever for an indigene of Ibarapa under the Renewed Hope Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is, however, viewed as a timely response by Mr President to our appeal over the exclusion and marginalization of Ibarapa indigenes in the Federal Government’s recent appointments. We urge you to be a good ambassador of Ibarapaland by reciprocating this gesture with a great deal of loyalty and dedication to service.
While we are using this medium to express our profound gratitude to Mr President for listening to our cries, and by finding our kinsman, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, worthy of this important appointment, we want to appeal that our Oliver Twist still wants more.
