Some leaders of People’s Democratic Party in Lagos state have urged the national body and concerned leaders of the party to urgently find a lasting solution to the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party before the southwest leader of the party from Oyo state, governor Seyi Makinde further destabilize the party in Lagos state.
In a released content available to Westerndailynews.com from Lagos state, the Lagos PDP Leaders accused Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde and a leader of the party in Lagos state, Chief Bode George of making moves to hijack the party structure in the state, referred to a peace meeting held by governor Makinde and Bode George in the name of Lagos state PDP as gathering of a factional members of the party said the meeting was organized to faction out plan to take over the party structure by Seyi Makinde for Bode Goerge group.
The Lagos state PDP Leaders urged all the party members to disregard the held meeting in total, hinted that all what the party members want is for the national body to organise a state congress, where true state executives will emerged, not a one-sided harmonized list prepared by governor Seyi Makinde and his corhorts.
PDP Party Leaders in Lagos also said Governor Makinde has to be curtailed if any meaningful reconciliation will be reached for the progress of the party in Lagos state, explained that, his predecessors who had managed the Lagos PDP as governor from Oyo, Osun and Ekiti excercised fairness and equity while controlling the party for Lagos leaders and members.

A JAUNDICED LAGOS PDP STAKEHOLDERS/PEACE LIST/MEETING AT TINUBU’s HOTEL
The reason why many TRUE Lagos State PDP leaders and members are insisting on Congresses rather than Harmonization has just been confirmed by the plot of Governor Makinde and Chief Bode Goerge which was unraveled at the supposed peace meeting held yesterday 9th February 2022.
Firstly, the caricature list of leaders and stakeholders is nothing more than a factional list with a few inclusion of names of neutral leaders. Because they had no choice some other leaders that identified with the masses were included. This was just to give an impression that it was an all-inclusive list! When thoroughly examined, the actual fact is that the list is made up of 90% Chief Olabode Goerge loyalists. Without a doubt the list and the subsequent product, the peace meeting was nothing more than a tea party that should be disregarded and thrown away into the gutter! It is disheartening to note that many names on the list are underserving to be included whereas other many well-accomplished leaders were exempted from the list.
The list included the following names which without a doubt shows the one-sided nature of the Lagos Chief who is fully supported by our dear Governor:
BOT Members:
1. Chief Bode George (BG)
2. Senator Kofo Bucknor Akerele (BG)
3. Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu (BG)

38. Elder Olagbemi (BG)
39. Saidu Olayinka (BG)

It is important to ask the Adeyemi Moyegun and the caretaker committee, the writers of this list where they have relegated the likes of Chief Dapo Sarumi, Dr. Ade Dosumu, Chief Bayo Williams (former State Chairman), Hon Wahab Owokoniran (former State Secretary), Otunba Femi Carrena (former South West Officer), Hon Mutiu Shadimu (former Reps member), Hon Rita Orji (former Reps member). What have the likes Tolagbe Animashaun, Hon Sunbo Onitiri, Princess Oyefusi, Alhaji Kamal Giwa, Mr. Awila Banigo, Hon Babatope Akinyele, Mr. Kunle Cole to mention a few, been reduced/demoted to? Are these names also not renowned PDP leaders and stakeholders in Lagos State? Aren’t they more deserving than most of the cronies that made the list in the name of “other leaders Geopolitical Zones”? The National headquarters should note that this list is definitely a Bode Goerge affair! It is just a confirmation that the fears of most TRUE leaders are now manifest. The Chief and our dear Governor are working together to destroy the fabric of our party in Lagos State.
THE OUTCOME OF THE MEETING
Our dear Governor in his wisdom shared all the 5 principal officers with the 5 BOT members which are grossly unacceptable. He did this without indicating which BOT members got what positions and went further to command that the remaining 9 positions will now be shared by the remaining 36 names on their fake list. What thinking could have warranted the Governor to decree such? What has the Governor done with the 3 serving House of Representative members who are constitutionally the leaders of Lagos State PDP? The Governor has only just desecrated our party constitution. We need to plead with him to go back to our constitution to find out who is what. Has Governor Makinde decided on his own that the BOT members are superior to the party constitution? Is he telling us that BOT membership is now tantamount to ownership of the party? What role do these BOT members play during elections and how active are they in canvassing for votes. Have they won their polling units during elections since 1999? Party men and women across the Nation should intervene to ensure that this evil on the masses of the party is not perpetrated. We know that these BOT members only use their influence to trade the party. Something similar happened in Lagos Mainland Hotel in 2011 where Dr Charles Akintoye collected money to trade out Surulere PDP from the then serving APC house of Representative members. All their dealings will be revealed as we move forward
WE NEED A FREE AND FAIR CONGRESS IN LAGOS STATE PDP!
What and who’s script is our Governor writing with his stern desire to throw Lagos PDP into extinction? Why was such an important State event held in the Hotel known to belong to Bola Tinubu? Why is Governor Makinde and his cohorts afraid of congress in Lagos State?
The National body now needs to reexamine all the complaints of other leaders in view to finding a more lasting solution to the crisis rocking the state chapter. The role of Governor Makinde has to be curtailed if any meaningful reconciliation will be reached. A more neutral representation from other geo-political zones must be urgently considered to prevent the Governor from dancing to the tone of Chief Bode Goerge. The report of the last congress must be dusted out and form the basis of any future attempt to resolve this crisis. The dealers of Lagos State PDP must be put to shame. Our Governor should be told clearly that Lagos State is not Oyo State in terms of sophistication, development, population and that he will not be allowed to control Lagos State PDP!
Lagos State PDP is being pushed to a make or mar situation. There has never been any interference in the affairs of the party worse than what is experienced now. We have had several other Governors such as former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Gbenga Daniels, Ayo Fayose, Segun Oni, Segun Mimiko, Chief Rasheed Ladoja and finally late Alao Akala. These honorable men play a more uniting role across the southwest zone and it is wondered why Governor Makinde can not follow suit but rather has decided to be used as a tool to destabilize the State chapter. Is all this for unforeseen political ambition? Dear Governor, power is transient! You will only be on the seat but for a while like others!!
Dear Governor, you are only bringing the morale of party members in Lagos State its lowest ebb!
