As Oyo State celebrated its 50th anniversary tagged Oyo State @ 50, the government of Engineer Seyi Makinde honoured a distinguished group of citizens, leaders, and contributors to the state’s development during the grand finale of activities marking the golden jubilee.
Among the key awardees were individuals recognised for their contributions in governance, innovation, public service, and legacy building.
In remarks during the event, Governor Makinde noted that the awards were part of efforts to celebrate citizens who have contributed meaningfully to the state’s progress over 50 years.
The honours also sought to acknowledge individuals whose achievements continue to enhance Oyo State’s reputation locally, nationally, and internationally.
The celebrations brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, and dignitaries from across the state and beyond in an atmosphere of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment to service.
