Egbeda/Ona-Ara PDP Stakeholders Reverse Course on Otope, Declare Fed. Rep Ticket Open

Intrigue continues to build within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, as fresh revelations have upended earlier reports of a settled candidacy.
Just last week thursday, political circles were awash with claims that party leaders and stakeholders had reached a consensus, reportedly settling for Hon. Ezekiel Oladimeji Otope as the party’s flagbearer for the House of Representatives seat.

The development, which spread rapidly, was widely perceived as a done deal.
However, in a dramatic twist, authoritative voices within the party have now dismissed the claim as premature and misleading.
Multiple PDP leaders and stakeholders across Egbeda and Ona-Ara have firmly stated that no such consensus has been reached, insisting that consultations are still ongoing and that no aspirant has been officially endorsed.
Sources within the party hierarchy revealed that the leadership is committed to a transparent and credible process, warning against what they described as “false narratives and propaganda” being circulated to create undue advantage.

Leaders and stakeholders emphasized their unwavering loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that his leadership style does not accommodate misinformation or imposition.
According to them, “the governor we follow believes in fairness, due process, and truth.
There is no room for deceit or manipulation in deciding who flies the party’s flag.”
They further disclosed that a final decision is imminent, as efforts are being intensified to reach a genuine consensus acceptable to all factions within the party.
As the race stands, all prominent aspirants, Hon. Ezekiel Oladimeji Otope, Hon. Tosin Alabi, Seye Gbaroye and Rt. Hon. Abiodun Muhammed Fadeyi remain firmly in contention, each commanding significant support across the constituency.
With uncertainty still hanging in the air and political calculations reaching a fever pitch, the battle for the PDP ticket in Egbeda/Ona-Ara remains wide open and far from decided.
