Council Chair, Akintayo Visits Burnt Market, Promises Support

In response to the recent fire incident at Orita Aperin Market, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo, led a delegation of political and management staff to the market today to express heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the affected community.

Akintayo, while addressing market officials, emphasized the importance of heightened caution during the harmattan season.

During the visit, the Chairman made significant commitments to aid the recovery efforts and pledged to personally oversee the repair of the damaged borehole in the market and urged all other markets to ensure the functionality of their boreholes and reservoirs as a preventive measure.

Moreover, the Council Boss announced plans to engage relevant authorities, including NERMA (National Emergency Management Agency), SEMA (State Emergency Management Agency), and other entities responsible for fire accidents, to provide comprehensive support to affected shop owners.

This proactive and compassionate response from the Ibadan North East Local Government reflects its commitment to community welfare and underscores the Chairman’s dedication to swift and effective assistance in times of crisis.
