A one-story building located at Aganni Agbaje Area of Agbeni market has been engulfed by fire, destroying household property.
Our correspondent reports that before the Oyo State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service got to the scene, sympathizers had already made moves to put out the fire.
One of the victims, Mrs. Kehinde Oladejo who lost all her belongings to the incident was seen crying uncontrollably.
The victim in an emotion laden voice spoke in Yoruba.
Mrs. Oladejo appealed to the state government to assist her financially as she had lost all her belongings.
Speaking, Oyo State Principal Fire Superintendent, Mr. Isiaka Ojeyinka who commended the sympathizers for rescuing the situation, said it was difficult to get to the building on time due to the nature of the market.
Mr. Ojeyinka cautioned Nigerians against cooking in the living room as it was the major cause of the fire incident.
It observed that the pavement of the story building was being used as a warehouse by traders in the market.
