Oyo 2027: Adekanmbi Receives Warm Welcome at Bodija Market

The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, received a warm welcome from traders and residents during a visit to Bodija International Market in Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The visit took on a personal dimension as Adekanmbi visited the shop of his late/biological mother, popularly known as Iya Elelelubo, who traded in unprocessed yam flour (elubo ikokoro) at the market. Adekanmbi has previously spoken publicly about his mother’s trading background in Bodija Market.

Led by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, the delegation included APM campaign officials, party leaders, lawmakers and representatives of various market associations.
Adekanmbi, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Olukemi Adekanmbi, also paid a courtesy visit to the Babaloja of Bodija Market, Alhaji S.A. Jimoh, before embarking on a walk through the market.
Speaking at his mother’s former shop, Adekanmbi recalled his childhood experiences in the market, saying proceeds from her business contributed to his upbringing and education. He said his story demonstrated the opportunities available to people from modest backgrounds.

The APM candidate pledged to prioritise policies aimed at improving the business environment for traders if elected governor, including infrastructure, security and empowerment initiatives. He specifically promised to address the internal road network within Bodija Market.

Adekanmbi later visited the Bodija plank market area, where he commissioned a fire station donated in honour of the late Ibadan North federal lawmaker, Hon. Musiliu Akinremi Olaide, popularly known as Jagaban. Recent reports also confirm the completion and commissioning of a fire station and other infrastructure projects in the Bodija market area.
At the Bodija Isopako Town Hall and later the Oderinlo Ultramodern Complex and Motor Park, Adekanmbi met with market leaders, trade associations and community representatives, who presented their concerns and expectations.
The APM candidate assured the stakeholders that he would support policies designed to strengthen commerce and improve the operating environment for businesses across the state.
Adekanmbi also pledged to sustain ongoing development projects of the present administration and pursue additional infrastructure and economic initiatives if elected in 2027.I can also produce a with a stronger headline and tighter news lead.more punchy Punch/Tribune-style version
