As A Successful Son Of Ibarapa, Emulate Adegoke, Ogundoyin Philanthropist Gesture – Youth Tells Eruobodo

0

A youth from Ibarapaland has advised Dr. Olusola Ayandele Eruobodo to use his success to help develop Ibadapa communities.

Dr. Ayandele who used late Obafemi Awolowo name and lifestyle as his hallmark of advertising during his governorship campaign in 2019 election is said to be a contrary to how people figures his success in Ibarapaland where he was born.

While the youth complaint about the ineffectiveness of Eruobodo in Ibarapaland, he sited Late Chief Amos Adegoke and Late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin as a legends who are as successful as Dr. Ayandele during their days but their philanthropic gestures is second to none in Ibarapa communities which are still effective up till date.

The youth wrote ” I write this letter to you with an open mind, and in consideration of the “Obafemi Awolowo reincarnate” appellation you earned during the build-up to the 2019 General Election. I decided to go through this means to clearly express my state of mind as regards your personality as well as your contributions to the Ibarapa Community.

This letter is not an attempt to smear your name in the mud; neither is it an attempt to bring your positive efforts to nought. In other words, it is devoid of malicious intent. Rather, it is aimed at calling your attention to some critical areas of intervention by which your name will be etched in gold in the history of the region.

There is a reason providence placed you in Ibarapa and the desire of many is to see you fulfill these reasons like late Chief Amos Adegoke and Late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin among other living legends.

As a keen observer of your political and humanitarian trajectory, I could state that you have been performing below your expected standard. I hope that doesn’t sound too harsh! It is not to say some good deeds have not been attributed to you, but the impact is yet to be felt by all and sundry in Ibarapaland.

It is so disheartening that electricity in your region is practically nonexistent. As a major investor in this sector, we expected you would use your influence to make this happen but it never happened. It is never too late anyway, else whatever you say in your pre-2023 campaign will be treated as a mere puff because we are aware that the likes of Wasiu Ayinde (Marshal) have been hinting about your next political ambition.

We expected your intervention in the region just like every other well-meaning individuals from the region to extend a hand of generosity to the vulnerable at a critical point when a global pandemic continues to plummet the economy of the world – Nigeria being among the worst hit, not to talk of Ibarapa, where a significant number of the inhabitants are farmers/petty traders, but to no avail. You should know that we need you in this region as much as you need us.

Sir, I wish to inform you that some indigenes who, even without any political ambition, have demonstrated that they share in the suffering of the people from the region by providing palliatives and other forms of succor to the community people. These are mostly youths who understand the need to be empathetic, not only as leaders but also as concerned individuals who share humanity with others. I wish you let you know that the younger generation are really working. In Idere, for instance, aside in individual capacity, the younger generation under the aegis of Idere Descendants’ Vanguard made a huge impacts in ameliorating the effect of the pandemics in the lives of the needy. But where do you stand sir?

This is where Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin comes to memory; his impacts have been engraved in the stone of history, and are still across the region and even beyond. As a successful businessman and seasoned engineer, building your community should be your aspiration at all times. No community will forget a leader that raises its bar of development.

Sir, I humbly advise you to get to work and let your impacts be highly felt across the board. Definitely, you surely cannot mend every problem alone, but you can initiate the process.

May the Almighty empower you to do more for the community and the whole of Ibarapa.

Accept this token of criticism in good faith, sir, as I, like many others, look forward to seeing great and historical feats from you.

From your well wisher and a concerned Ibarapa Indigene.
